The information
on this page outlines the general conditions that apply to having
a website hosted by MIS, without all the in-depth stuff on the
Terms page. Basically
this is all you need to be observant of if MIS host your site.
However the full terms do need to be agreed to.
Hosting packages are billed in advance, and if you cancel
at any time you are still liable for the costs for the package
until the end of the pre-invoiced period - ie no refunds are made.
Features of various packages may change from time to time
- if a change disadvantages you, you will receive notification
at least 1 month in advance. Cancellation of an account due to
this circumstance only, will entitle you to a refund of any advance
hosting fees paid, less 1 month.
Guarantees/warrantees - MIS assure you that your site
will be up and available on the Internet 99.0% of the time over
each year. In reality an 'up time' of close to 99.5% and higher
is usual. However no guarantee is offered, nor any liability whatsoever
accepted. If 'down time' of your site is in fact greater than
2% in any month MIS will gladly credit your account pro-rata for
the period that your website was unavailable on the Internet to
the general public.
"Inappropriate" content on websites is a no-no.
Use your imagination here, but check the Terms
page to be sure. Bona fide medical sites etc are normally ok,
but please enquire
first.
Technical support - is limited for accounts that are managed
by yourself. Full support is provided for customers that choose
the Managed option. Managed accounts will also receive up to 1
hour per month of design, publishing, and alterations support.
This is almost always more than enough to keep your site fully
maintained. Technical/system problems do not count toward this
time limit. Additional time spent on non-system issues will be
charged at the rate of $35.00 per hour, in half hour increments,
but will be discussed in advance.
Bandwidth limitations - Each account plan has a limited
amount of traffic bandwidth. For example the Standard accounts
have a limit of 500 MB - this is usually more than adequate, and
equates to the Plans page being visited over 13400 times.
